In this particular project the two main goals to achieve were the renovation of an old traditional Lebanese house and the addition of a town club underground with all its functions without harming the status of the house as the predominant object and the garden in front.
This was achieved by creating a whole building underground all around the house in order to reinstate the garden on top as an extension. Restoration of the original house was done to maintain its historic architectural character while contemporary elements were added such as a restaurant, a glasshouse and skylights to spaces below etc… The project comprises an English club mainly in the old house for social activities such as backgammon, cards, billiard, library, multipurpose hall, restaurant and bars. The health club comprises a 25m swimming pool, gymnasium hall, squash courts, fitness hall, hamam, sauna… and an underground parking of 100 cars.
