VILLA GHANEM. Qornet el Hamra. Construction completed.
This is a square shaped villa (18m*18m) spreading on three levels, with each floor attached to a part of a very slanted site. The lower ground floor houses the main entrance and is on the lower level of the garden. The upper ground floor comprises the main reception area communicating with the upper level of the garden giving on an unobstructed exceptional view. The highest level for the night quarters is connected to the back upper garden.
Internally the house swirls around a central void (6m*6m) on the three levels which gives a spatial and visual interactive bond to all functions inspired by the ”central hall“ of traditional Lebanese houses. The owner is a great art lover and collector and his wife a painter herself, the house is a palette to acquired artworks as well as the paintings of the wife and other great artist… Hence the void where all artworks posted anywhere are visible and appreciated on various angles.
