Villa MEEM is located at Al Qurum residential hill on a steep slanting site with a 180 degree panorama. It stretches on the whole width of the site with two main large fascias: east (access zone) and west (view) in order to give the best view to all functions. The design blurs the line of inside and outdoor space with the addition of big sliding glass panels.
A central void bisects the home, forming an axis that connects both fascias and is crossed by bridges and vertical sculptural stairs as well as a panoramic glazed elevator turning the space into a spatial and visual interactive bond. Natural light fills the house through large openings and skylights. An exterior “promenade” links all levels till the overflowing swimming pool. The project is perched on the higher part of the site with a front court used as an access area for visitors and cars, parking and garden … thus maintaining the larger part of the site towards the view naturally without intervention and falling down untouched … that was the wish of the owner.
